Meet Dr. Dan Froemel
Family
Dan is a proud father and loving husband. His son attends Nexton Elementary School and his daughter attends Cane Bay Middle School. His wife of 18 years, Angie, is an accomplished small business owner and events planner in the Charleston, SC area and Knoxville, TN. Most weekdays find them commuting between soccer practice for Ben and theater practice for Ellie. They love to travel together as a family and enjoy spending time with friends in their community.

Dan is passionate about education which is shown by many years of experience in special education. He is the only candidate with experience at the local, state, and national level. He is currently the Senior Technical Assistance Advisor at Longevity Consulting and serves as an educational consultant to the U.S. Department of Education, providing support and technical assistance on Title I, D. In this role he provides support to educational leaders across the country in how to run quality educational programs for at-risk youth and prevent students from dropping out of school. Dan started his service as a special education teacher, began leading as special education department head at the high school level, served as a principal for nearly a decade before transitioning as a Senior Director with the TN Department of Education, overseeing programs for some of the most at-risk students in the state. He has also served as the Compliance Coordinator for CCSD Department of Exceptional Children. These years of experience and being an equally passionate family man give Dan the needed background to be a great leader to serve on the BCSD board. He is passionate about helping children, parents, and teachers get the most out of public education.
